Daria Kelleher writes the kind of stories that she would’ve read as a child. They involve children having some kind of unexpected, strange, or magical adventure that tests their view of the world. The stories take place in different states because as a military family she and her husband moved several times. In The Imp Bottle she set the story in San Jose, California which is near Los Gatos where she lived as a teen. She and her husband now live in Northern Kentucky with their dog and several formerly stray cats.
